Cordially invites you to participate in the international conference

Social And Personal Challenges During
the COVID-19 Pandemic

Reflecting one of the pandemic’s challenges, the conference itself will be held online on 25th and 26th November 2021.

The Pandemic, with which we have all been struggling for well over a year, has become an inseparable part of nearly all aspects of life and has given rise to numerous related problems, ranging from the severe to the acute. It has also set in motion multiple processes, some whose consequences are already clearly visible while others still smolder under the surface, the repercussions of which will only become apparent as we move forward into the near and far future. Humankind, faced with such innumerable challenges, has been propelled into action: most immediately, people and organizations all over the world have been fighting the virus and the disease, assessing and improving the functioning of the health systems, and developing medicines and vaccines in attempts to surmount the pandemic. Other challenges – and adaptations and solutions to them - have emerged as well: shifts in educational and professional paradigms, changes in language and culture, economic consequences and policies for individuals, institutions, and whole communities. The need for psychological support has vastly increased as we struggle to confront not only this new illness but also the plethora of fears, anxieties, and changes in our lifestyles that it has brought about. Legal and general social frameworks have followed these changes as functions and functioning have been forced to adapt to the new circumstances.

Demands have been imposed on professionals, scholars, and scientists in search of adequate answers with one general aim – to overcome the consequences of the pandemics in the best possible manner and thus contribute to a better quality of life and learning in these new, still shifting circumstances.

It is our belief that this conference can contribute to this overall goal. Therefore, we invite you to make your contribution towards enhancing professional and academic understanding and advance the discussion of this challenging novel situation. Theoretical or empirical research can be presented in the following areas:

  • Law and social studies (history, sociology, philosophy, political sciences)
  • Psychology
  • Language and literature
